INTRODUCTION
LOVAX 300MG contains Oxcarbazepine which belongs to a group of medicines called anticonvulsants or antiepileptics. It is used to treat partial seizures and generalized tonic-clonic seizures. Epilepsy is a disorder of brain where people have recurring seizures and convulsions. Seizures is a result of a temporary fault in the brain’s electrical activity.
Take LOVAX 300MG according to the dose and frequency as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not drive or operate machinery while taking this medicine, since it may cause dizziness, drowsiness, balance or co-ordination problems, eye problems, muscle weakness and reduced levels of consciousness. Before using it, inform your doctor if you have or had heart problems, kidney or liver disease, difficulty urinating, depression, or suicidal thoughts. This medicine is used in adults and children aged 6 years and above. Your doctor will give the dose works best for you or your child. It can be used alone or along with other antiepileptic medicines.

HOW LOVAX 300MG WORKS
LOVAX 300MG works by keeping the brain’s over excitable nerve cells under control, which may help to suppress or reduce the frequency of such seizures.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Take this medicine according to the dose and frequency as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break the medicine. It may be taken with or without food.

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS
Diarrhoea:
Drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration. ORS should be used to prevent dehydration.
Drowsiness or dizziness:
Get up and move around to feel awake, take small naps to edge off the sleepiness. Give your eyes a break to avoid fatigue and eat a healthy food to boost energy.
Vomiting:
Drink clear or ice-cold drinks. Eat light, bland foods and avoid fried, greasy, or sweet foods.
Constipation:
Eat fruits, vegetables whole grains and high fiber rich foods.
Feeling sick (nausea) or indigestion:
Stick to simple normal meals and do not eat rich or spicy foods.
WARNING & PRECAUTIONS
PREGNANCY
LOVAX 300MG should be used with caution in pregnant women. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine.
BREASTFEEDING
LOVAX 300MG is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
DRIVING AND USING MACHINES
Do not drive or operate machinery while taking this medicine, since it may cause dizziness, drowsiness, balance or co-ordination problems, eye problems, muscle weakness and reduced levels of consciousness.
ALCOHOL
Consumption of alcohol is not recommended during treatment with LOVAX 300MG. It may cause drowsiness.
KIDNEY
LOVAX 300MG should be used with caution in patients suffering from active kidney diseases. Consult your doctor for advice.
LIVER
LOVAX 300MG should be used with caution in patients suffering from liver function impairment or active liver diseases. Consult your doctor for advice.
ALLERGY
Do not take if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Oxcarbazepine or any ingredients of this medicine.
HEART DISEASE
LOVAX 300MG should be used with caution in patients suffering from active heart diseases. Consult your doctor for advice.
OTHERS
Tell your doctor if you had or have a condition such as:
Low sodium level in blood
INTERACTIONS
Inform your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription or the following:
Antipsychotic medicines
Hormonal contraceptives
Diuretics
Indomethacin and ibuprofen (medicines used to treat pain)
Ciclosporin, tacrolimus (immunosuppressants)
Rifampicin
