The symptoms include painful urination, difficulty in urination, excess urination, and urge incontinence (inability to hold urine for a long time). Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is a condition in which there is an enlargement of the prostate gland due to multiplication of the cells mostly in the men above 50 years of age. The growth of the prostate gland is non-cancerous in nature.

As a result, BPH symptoms like night time urination, sudden urge to urinate, difficulty in urination, and strain while urinating is reduced, and the ability to urinate is increased with increased urine flow/output.
