About Cloba MT 10mg Tablet

CLOBA MT 10MG TABLET belongs to a class of anxiolytic drugs called benzodiazepines (BZD) primarily used to treat epilepsy (fits), severe anxiety over a short period. Also, CLOBA MT 10MG TABLET is used in combination with other medicines to treat schizophrenia (a mental illness). Epilepsy (fits) is a disorder in which there is a sudden, uncontrolled disturbance in the electrical activity of nerve cells in the brain. Anxiety is a mental health disorder associated with fear, worry and excessive nervousness. Schizophrenia is a mental disorder that affects the ability of a person to feel, think and behave clearly.

CLOBA MT 10MG TABLET works by increasing the release of GABA (a chemical messenger that acts as a nerve-calming agent) in the brain by acting on GABA receptors. Thereby, CLOBA MT 10MG TABLET prevents fits by stabilizing the electrical activity of nerve cells in the brain. Also, CLOBA MT 10MG TABLET calms nerve cells and helps in reducing anxiety and induces sleep.

Take CLOBA MT 10MG TABLET with or without food and swallow whole with a glass of water. Your doctor will advise you how often you take CLOBA MT 10MG TABLET based on your medical condition. Some people may experience restlessness, irritability, drowsiness, constipation, aggressive behaviour, tiredness or breathing problems. Most of these side effects of CLOBA MT 10MG TABLET do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are known to be allergic to CLOBA MT 10MG TABLET or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. CLOBA MT 10MG TABLET is not recommended for children below 6 years of age. Do not take CLOBA MT 10MG TABLET if you are pregnant or breastfeeding as it may cause adverse effects in the baby. CLOBA MT 10MG TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients above 65 years as there is an increased risk of adverse reactions such as dizziness, muscle weakness and drowsiness. Directions for Use

Use CLOBA MT 10MG TABLET exactly as prescribed by a doctor. Take CLOBA MT 10MG TABLET with or without food and swallow whole with a glass of water. If you have any difficulty swallowing, crush the tablet and mix it with apple sauce. If you are prescribed CLOBA MT 10MG TABLET in oral suspension form, shake the bottle well before use and take CLOBA MT 10MG TABLET with food or without food. Take CLOBA MT 10MG TABLET in doses as prescribed by a doctor with the help of an oral syringe.

Drug Interactions

Drug-Drug Interaction: CLOBA MT 10MG TABLET may have interaction with high blood pressure-lowering medicines (nebivolol), pain killers (dihydrocodeine, morphine, codeine), antifungal drug (fluconazole), antipsychotics (pimozide, haloperidol, clozapine, chlorpromazine), sleeping pills (zolpidem), epilepsy or fits related drugs (phenytoin, clonazepam, carbamazepine, valproic acid, levetiracetam, lamotrigine, pregabalin), antidepressants (paroxetine, fluvoxamine, trazodone), antihistamines/antiallergics (diphenhydramine, chlorphenamine, promethazine), anti-anxiety drugs (lorazepam, diazepam, temazepam).

Drug-Food Interaction: CLOBA MT 10MG TABLET may interact with alcohol. Therefore, avoid intake of alcohol while taking CLOBA MT 10MG TABLET as it may increase side effects such as drowsiness, dizziness or difficulty in concentrating.
