Medical Description
Clobator tablet is a prescription medication. It is used to manage various types of anxiety and refractory seizures (excessive electrical activity of the nerve cells). Managing all kinds of sudden anxiety attacks and a chronic anxiety state is one of the primary uses of the Clobator tablet. This tablet should only be used in combination with other seizure medications for seizures. It is not used as the first line of treatment for a seizure disorder. Clobator tablet has clobazam as its main ingredient. It is a tranquilliser (medicine that boosts calmness and reduces fear). The mode of action of Clobator tablets is by increasing the activity of certain chemical messenger in the nervous system, which helps to lower the abnormal or excessive electrical activity of nerve cells in the brain. It also has antiepileptic (reduces seizures) and relaxing properties. These tablets can cause physical dependence (causes physical symptoms if stopped using or using low doses) in the case of long-term use. Monitoring the dosage of Clobator 5mg tablets is essential. Moreover, do not stop using this medicine suddenly as it can cause withdrawal symptoms, like muscle tremors, sweating, nausea, muscle pain, etc. Clobator tablets can cause severe respiratory problems when mixed with certain medicines. Clobator tablets can increase suicidal thoughts and behaviour.

Contraindications of Clobator 5 MG

It is contraindicated in the following cases:

If you are allergic to any component of Clobator tablet

If you have been diagnosed with severe clinical depression or are currently under treatment for it, consult your doctor first

If you are using other similar medications like diazepam, it can cause serious side effects

If you are expecting or planning for a pregnancy

If you notice any skin-related issues after using them, discontinue this medicine immediately. It can lead to Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis (both are serious skin conditions)

If you have a history of substance abuse or addiction to alcohol

If you notice an increase in suicidal Behavior and Ideation

Mode of Action of Clobator 5 MG
How Does It Work?
Clobator 5mg tablet is composed of only one active ingredient, clobazam. It belongs to the class of benzodiazepines (lowers the excess activity of the brain) or tranquillisers (medicine that elevates calmness and reduces fear). It works by improving the levels of certain chemical substances in the brain called GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid), which helps reduce the abnormal or excessive electrical activity in the brain’s nerve cells. It also has antiepileptic (lowers seizures) and calming effects.
Directions for Use of Clobator 5MG

Take the Clobator tablet exactly as directed by your doctor.

Do not exceed the dosage of Clobator tablet, even if you cannot notice its effects.

Take Clobator with or without consuming food.

Do not take Clobator with other medications without consulting your physician.

Interactions with other medicines

Do not use Clobator 5mg tablets with opioid pain relievers, allergy medication, cold or cough medication, sleeping pills, muscle relaxants, etc., that increase drowsiness.

Interactions with food items

Clobator tablet does not interact with food. It can be taken before or after a meal.
Storage and disposal of Clobator 5MG
Store the Clobator tablet in dry conditions. Keep it away from direct sunlight and humid conditions. Keep Clobator tablets away from children and pets. Dosage of Clobator 5 MG
Overdose
Overdose on Clobator tablet can lead to loss of balance, drowsiness, dizziness, problems with coordination, confusion, vomiting, lack of appetite, difficulty speaking, yellowing of eyes and skin (due to liver failure), shallow breathing, seizures, and loss of consciousness. If you overdose on Clobator medicine and experience these symptoms, immediately seek emergency medical treatment from a nearby hospital.
Missed a Dose
If you have missed a dose of Clobator tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If it is already time to take the next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next Clobator tablet. Do not take both doses together; it can cause an overdose. Talk to your doctor if you have any confusion about dosage.
