Description
Xylocaine 2 % Gel is a local anesthetic. It is used to produce a temporary numbness and loss of sensation before the insertion of medical instruments and catheters for the medical examination of the nose, throat, lungs, or stomach, or before urinary catheterisation (a procedure where a flexible tube is used to drain urine from the bladder).
Xylocaine 2 % Gel may show some side effects like sore throat or hoarseness of voice if used in the mouth and throat. Also, consult your doctor if numbness and/or local irritation persist at the site of application.
Xylocaine 2 % Gel is usually given by your doctor in a hospital or clinical setting. The dose will depend on the intended use.
