INTRODUCTION
ROSEDAY 40 MG contain rosuvastatin which belongs to a group of medicine called statins. It is used to treat high cholesterol level and helps to prevent heart attack and stroke. Cholesterol is a fatty substance normally found in bloodstream. When it gets builds up in your blood vessels it may lead to narrowing of blood vessel resulting in heart attack or stroke.
Heart attack occur when an artery supplying your heart with blood and oxygen become blocked. Stroke occur when the blood supply to part of your brain is interrupted and prevent brain tissue from getting oxygen and nutrient. Low cholesterol levels can reduce the risk of having a heart attack, a stroke or related health problems. ROSEDAY 40 MG treat high cholesterol level and helps to prevent heart attack and stroke.
Always take ROSEDAY 40 MG exactly as your doctor has told you. This medicine must be taken with or without food. It should be swallowed whole with water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. This medicine is not recommended for use in children and adolescents below 18 years of age. Before taking this medicine talk to your doctor if you have any kidney, liver, heart problems. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking this medicine. Diabetic patients should monitor their blood sugar level while taking this medicine. The most common side effects include headache, muscle pain, dizziness, weakness, stomach pain, and constipation.

HOW ROSEDAY 40MG WORKS
It works by blocking an enzyme (HMG-CoA-reductase) that is required by the body to make cholesterol, thereby lowering “bad” cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides, and raising “good” cholesterol (HDL).
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Always take ROSEDAY 40MG exactly as your doctor has told you. This medicine must be taken with or without food. It should be swallowed whole with water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.
SIDE EFFECTS OF ROSEDAY 40MG
SERIOUS
- Swelling of the face, lip, tongue and/or throat, which may cause difficulty in breathing and swallowing
- Severe itching of the skin (with raised lump)
- Decrease of platelets in the blood (thrombocytopenia)
- Stevens-Johnson syndrome (serious blistering condition of the skin, mouth, eyes and genital)
- Lupus-like disease syndrome (including rash, joint disorders, and effects on blood cell)

COMMON
- Headache
- Stomach pain, constipation
- Nausea
- Muscle pain
- Weakness

- Increase the amount of proteins in the urine

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS
Headache:
Apply hot or cold-water bag on your head. Take rest in a quiet and dark room. Drink tea or coffee.
Stomach pain:
Keep try to rest and relax. Eat and drink slowly and smaller and frequent meals. Applying a heat pad or covered hot water bottle on your stomach may also help. If still pain persists, speak to your doctor.
Constipation:
Take fibre rich foods such as fresh fruit, vegetables and cereals, and drink plenty of water. Exercise more regularly.
Nausea:
Keep try taking this medicine with, or just after, a meal or snack and stick to simple meals and do not eat rich or spicy food.
Dizziness:
Lie down and close our eyes. Drink plenty of water and keep hydrated. Take plenty of sleep.

PREGNANCY
ROSEDAY 40MG is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
BREASTFEEDING
ROSEDAY 40MG is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
DRIVING AND USING MACHINES
Do not drive or operate machinery while taking this medicine, since it may cause dizziness.
ALCOHOL
Consumption of alcohol is not recommended during treatment with ROSEDAY 40MG.
KIDNEY
ROSEDAY 40MG is not recommended in patients with active kidney diseases. Before taking this medicine, consult your doctor.
LIVER
ROSEDAY 40MG is not recommended in patients with active liver diseases. Before taking this medicine, consult your doctor.
ALLERGY
Do not take ROSEDAY 40MG if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to rosuvastatin or any other ingredients in this medicine.
LUNGS
ROSEDAY 40MG should be used with caution in patients suffering from active lung diseases (severe respiratory failure). Consult your doctor for advice.
OTHERS
Tell your doctor if you have or had a condition such as,
- Repeated or unexplained muscle aches or pains or family history of muscle problems
- Thyroid gland is not working properly
- Elderly, over 70 years
INTERACTIONS
Talk to your doctor if you are taking,
- Ciclosporin (used for after organ transplants)
- Regorafenib, darolutamide (used to treat cancer)
- Warfarin or clopidogrel (used for thinning the blood)
- Fibrates such as gemfibrozil, fenofibrate or any other medicine such as ezetimibe (used to treat lower cholesterol)
- Antacids (used to neutralise acid in your stomach)
- Antibiotic such as erythromycin, fusidic acid (used to treat infection)
- Oral contraceptive (the pill)
- Hormone replacement therapy
- Any antiviral medicines
