This medicine is used to treat a condition where the body is not able to produce sufficient amounts of steroidal hormones. This may be caused due to improper functioning of adrenal glands that secrete these hormones or the pituitary gland and the hypothalamus which regulate the hormone release process. This medicine is also used for the regulation of steroidal hormone levels during surgeries.
Acute asthma
This medicine is used to manage acute exacerbation of asthma. It helps to relieve the allergic symptoms associated with asthma.
Swelling and pain
This medicine is used to relieve the pain and swelling associated with inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis.

When not to use?
Allergy
This medicine is not recommended for use if you have a known allergy to hydrocortisone or any other ingredients present along with the formulation.
