Olmat-40 H Tablet is a combination of Hydrochlorothiazide and Olmesartan. It is used in the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure). This medicine works by relaxing the blood vessels and also increasing the water and sodium excretion from the body. Thus it promotes the smooth flow of blood and also allows your heart to pump blood more efficiently.
Olmat-40 H Tablet has some side effects like cough, nausea, headache, upset stomach, etc. This medicine may cause you to urinate more often as it works by removing extra water from your body. If any of these side effects do not resolve with time or get worse, consult your doctor immediately. Avoid taking this medicine if you are allergic to it.

What is it prescribed for?
Hypertension or high blood pressure is a condition in which the force exerted by the circulating blood on the walls of the blood vessel is high. Olmat-40 H Tablet is used to control high blood pressure.
When not to use?
Avoid taking Olmat-40 H Tablet if you are allergic to it. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms such as skin rash, itching/swelling of the face/tongue/throat, breathing difficulty, etc.
Anuria is a condition in which the kidneys are unable to produce urine. Olmat-40 H Tablet is not recommended for use if you have anuria as it may further damage your kidneys.
Coadministration of Olmat-40 H Tablet and Aliskiren (a medicine used to reduce blood pressure) is not recommended if you have diabetes (high blood sugar levels) and/or moderate to severe kidney impairment as it may increase the risk of kidney damage.
