Mazetol 200 MG Tablet is a medicine that contains Carbamazepine. It is used in the treatment of certain types of seizures (a sudden, uncontrolled electrical disturbance in the brain causing abnormal behaviour and loss of consciousness) and trigeminal neuralgia (a nerve disorder that affects the face causing sudden and severe pain). Mazetol 200 MG Tablet works by decreasing the abnormal electrical activity in the brain.
Mazetol 200 MG Tablet shows side effects like fatigue, loss of coordination, dry mouth, headache, nausea, etc. Consult your doctor if these side effects persist or become severe. Avoid driving vehicles or operating machines as this medicine can cause dizziness or drowsiness, and can affect your mental focus. Mazetol 200 MG Tablet may also cause mood and behavioural changes. If you experience mood changes or suicidal thoughts, contact your doctor immediately.

When not to use?
Allergy

Bone marrow suppression
Bone marrow suppression is a condition in which there is decreased production of blood cells in your bone marrow (a spongy substance present at the centre of your bones). Mazetol 200 MG Tablet is not recommended to use if you have a history of bone marrow suppression, as it may further worsen your condition.
Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs)
Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) are a class of medicines used in the treatment of depression. Mazetol 200 MG Tablet is not recommended for use if you are taking MAOIs as it may cause undesired effects. Also, avoid taking this medicine for at least 14 days after the discontinuation of MAOIs.
Porphyria
