INTRODUCTION
MAC RABONIK 40MG contains Rabeprazole which belongs to a group of medicine called Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs). It is used to treat ulcer in the upper part of the intestine (duodenal ulcer) and benign stomach ulcer, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome and also used for the combination with two antibiotics such as clarithromycin and amoxycillin are used to eradication of Helicobacter pylori bacterial infection in patients with peptic ulcer disease. Gastroesophageal reflux disease is a condition where the acid in the stomach frequently flows back into the oesophagus (a tube connecting your mouth and stomach). This acid reflux can irritate the lining of your esophagus.
Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome is a condition where the islet cells of pancreas cause over production of gastric acid, resulting in recurrent peptic ulcers. MAC RABONIK 40MG works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach which helps in relief of acid related indigestion and heartburn. This medicine is strictly not recommended for use in children. Before taking this medicine tell your doctor if you have ever had kidney disease, heart disease, liver problems. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking this medicine.

USES OF MAC RABONIK 40MG

HOW MAC RABONIK 40MG WORKS
MAC RABONIK 40MG works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach which helps in relief of acid related indigestion and heartburn.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Always take MAC RABONIK 40MG exactly as your doctor has told you. This medicine must be taken before breakfast. It should be swallowed whole with water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.
SIDE EFFECTS OF MAC RABONIK 40MG
SERIOUS
Allergic reactions such as sudden swelling of your face, difficulty breathing or low blood pressure which may cause fainting or collapse
Frequent infections such as a sore throat or high temperature (fever) or ulcers in your mouth or throat
Bruising or bleeding
Sudden onset of severe rash or blistering or peeling skin. This may be associated with a high fever and joint pains (erythema multiforme, Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS), toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN))
COMMON
Cough, runny nose, or sore throat (pharyngitis)
Stomach pain, diarrhoea, wind (flatulence), nausea and vomiting, constipation
Aches or back pain, non-specific pain
Weakness or flu-like symptoms
Difficulty sleeping
Headache, dizziness
Infections
Benign polyps in the stomach
RARE
Blood problems such as reduced number of white cells or platelets. This can cause weakness, bruising or make infections more likely
Loss of appetite (anorexia)
Depression
Visual disturbance, taste disturbance
Inflammation of the liver, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes)
Itchy rash, sweating, skin blisters
Kidney inflammation (interstitial nephritis)
Increased weight
HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS
Stomach pain:
Keep try to rest and relax. Eat and drink slowly and smaller and frequent meals. Applying a heat pad or covered hot water bottle on your stomach may also help. If still pain persists, speak to your doctor.
Diarrhoea:
Drink lots of fluids, such as water or squash, to avoid dehydration. Do not take any other medicines without speaking to a doctor.
Nausea and vomiting:
Try taking this medicine with, or just after, a meal or snack and stick to simple meals and do not eat rich or spicy food.
Constipation:
Take fibre rich foods such as fresh fruit, vegetables and cereals, and drink plenty of water. Exercise more regularly.
Headache:
Apply hot or cold-water bag on your head. Take rest in a quiet and dark room. Drink tea or coffee.
Dizziness:
Get up and move around to feel awake, take small naps to edge off the sleepiness. Give your eyes a break to avoid fatigue and eat a healthy food to boost energy.
WARNING & PRECAUTIONS
PREGNANCY
MAC RABONIK 40MG is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
BREASTFEEDING
MAC RABONIK40MG is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
DRIVING AND USING MACHINES
Do not drive or operate machinery while taking this medicine, since it may cause sleepiness.
ALCOHOL
Consumption of alcohol is not recommended during treatment with MAC RABONIK 40MG.
KIDNEY
MAC RABONIK 40MG should be taken with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Consult your doctor for advice.
LIVER
MAC RABONIK40MG should be taken with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Consult your doctor for advice.
ALLERGY
Do not take MAC RABONIK 40MG if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Rabeprazole or any other ingredients in this medicine.
OTHERS
Tell your doctor if you have or had a condition such as,
Stomach tumour
Reduced body stores or risk factors for reduced vitamin B12
INTERACTIONS
Talk to your doctor if you are taking,
Atazanavir (used to treat HIV-infection)
Ketoconazole or itraconazole (used to treat fungal infection)
Methotrexate (used to treat cancer)
