Levocet 10 Tablet 15’s belongs to a class of drugs called anti-histamine or anti-allergic. It contains levocetirizine, Levocet 10 Tablet 15’s is an R-enantiomer of cetirizine primarily used to treat various kinds of allergies. An allergy is an immune system response to foreign elements typically not harmful to your body. These foreign elements are known as ‘allergens.’ Allergic condition varies from person to person. Some might be allergic to certain foods and seasonal allergies like hay fever. At the same time, others might be allergic to pollen or pet dander.

You should not take Levocet 10 Tablet 15’s if you are allergic to Levocet 10 Tablet 15’s or any other medicines in the past, currently breast-feeding, or have severe kidney failure (creatinine clearance less than 10 ml/min), the problem of urinary retention and fructose intolerance. You can take cetirizine while you’re pregnant, talk to your doctor about the benefits and possible harms of taking cetirizine. It’ll also depend on how many weeks pregnant you are and the reason you need to take cetirizine. It’s best not to drink alcohol while you’re taking cetirizine as it can make you feel sleepy. In certain cases, you may experience feeling sleepy and tired, headaches, dry mouth, feeling sick (nausea), feeling dizzy, stomach pain, diarrhoea, sore throat, cold-like symptoms of the nose, itching or a rash, tingling in your hands and feet and feeling agitated. Drug Warnings
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while taking Levocet 10 Tablet 15’s, consult your doctor. If you have kidney problems, dose adjustment might be required; the doctor will do it depending upon your disease’s condition. Please inform your doctor if you have a problem passing urine and have epilepsy (fits) before starting Levocet 10 Tablet 15’s. If you are supposed to undergo skin testing, the doctor might advise you to stop taking Levocet 10 Tablet 15’s 72 hours before the test as it decreases response to skin prick test. Patients should be cautioned against getting engaged in the work which required too much mental alertness like operating machinery or driving a motor vehicle after intake of Levocet 10 Tablet 15’s. Concurrent use of Levocet 10 Tablet 15’s with alcohol or other antidepressants should be avoided as it can reduce your mental alertness. Cetirizine can also be taken under medical supervision by children aged 1 year and older. Patients should avoid taking overdosage of Levocet 10 Tablet 15’s because of the increased risk of sleepiness and drowsiness at higher doses.
Drug Interactions
Drug-Drug Interaction: Levocet 10 Tablet 15’s have interactions with other antihistamines (such as diphenhydramine), Antidepressant (such as duloxetine), pain killer (such as pregabalin), a medicine used to treat low blood pressure (such as midodrine), a medicine used to treat anxiety disorders and panic disorder (such as alprazolam), and anti-viral or anti-HIV drugs (ritonavir).
Drug-Food Interaction: Alcohol and St John’s wort plant (a plant used as an anti-depressant) should not be used along with Levocet 10 Tablet 15’s.
Drug-Disease Interaction: Levocet 10 Tablet 15’s is contraindicated in kidney disease, epilepsy (fits), urinary bladder problem (Urinary Tract Obstruction) and alcoholism.
