Isonorm 10 MG Tablet is primarily used to avoid an angina attack. It widens blood vessels allowing increased blood flow to the heart. This medicine falls under the category of drugs called nitrates. It is sold under different trade names in different countries.

As a preventive measure, consult your physician if you have the following conditions:

This medicine is used for the prevention of angina (chest pain) caused due to reduced flow of blood and oxygen to the heart. It is not effective in treating chest pain that has already set in.

Dosage

Missed Dose instructions

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for the next scheduled dose.
Overdose instructions

Contact your doctor immediately if an overdose with this medicine is suspected. Symptoms of an overdose may include a severe headache, fever, nausea, vomiting, difficulty in breathing, excessive sweating etc.

Work

This medicine, chemically is an Isosorbide-5-Mononitrate, which gets converted to nitric oxide (NO) free radicals in the body which relax the blood vessels and reduces the load on the heart. This results in an improved blood flow and reduced oxygen demand.
