Doxolin 400mg Tablet
Doxolin 400mg Tablet is a xanthine derivative drug used in the treatment of asthma and other obstructive diseases. It is a potent bronchodilator and helps relax the smooth muscles of the airway leading to the lung.
This medication is used as a maintenance treatment for wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness associated with lung diseases like asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema and other diseases related to the respiratory system.
Though a specialized drug there are a few side effects to this drug such as palpation or increase in heartbeat, nausea, dizziness, insomnia and slight headaches. It has anti-tissue and bronchodilator effects and as a phosphodiesterase inhibitor.
This is a relatively safe drug and apart from not having many side effects has a very little interaction with other diseases, even so, it is not safe for expecting or breastfeeding mothers.
No habit-forming tendencies are found. The is a newer generation of Xanthine Bronchodilator or in simpler words an inhaler, which does not have major Cardiovascular Adverse effects. Differing from its predecessors it is relatively safer and has fewer drug on drug interaction.
Before using this medication, inform your doctor about your current list of medications, pre-existing diseases, over the counter products, allergies, and current health conditions. Some health conditions may make you more susceptible to the side-effects of the drug.
This medicine is not recommended for use by women who are pregnant or breastfeeding as the risk of adverse effects on the foetus or infant is very high. People suffering from myocardial infarction, peptic ulcers, hyperthyroidism, seizure disorders also should not take this drug.
