Budate Transpules (Budesonide)
Budate 0.5 MG Transpules is a corticosteroid medicine (medicines that help in reducing pain, swelling and irritation of the affected part) containing Budesonide. It is used for the maintenance treatment of Asthma (a condition that affects your airways and leads to breathing difficulty) in children, adolescents and adults. Budate 0.5 MG Transpules works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers in your body that cause swelling and irritation in the lungs.
Budate 0.5 MG Transpules may cause some side effects like thrush (a fungal infection), sore throat, cough and hoarse voice. Inform your doctor if these side effects become severe or persist. Avoid using this medicine if you are allergic to it. Budate 0.5 MG Transpules is not recommended for use in children below 3 months of age unless prescribed by a doctor.
Budate 0.5 MG Transpules is a prescription medicine. It should be used in the dose and for the duration prescribed by your doctor. Follow all the instructions given in the leaflet. What is it prescribed for?
Asthma
Asthma is a condition in which your airways become narrow, red and swollen and produce extra mucus, which makes it difficult to breathe. Budate 0.5 MG Transpules is used in the maintenance treatment to prevent the symptoms of asthma, such as breathing difficulty, chest tightness, wheezing and coughing.
When not to use?
Allergy
Avoid using Budate 0.5 MG Transpules if you are allergic to it. Allergic reactions are very rare to this medicine. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms of allergic reactions such as skin rash, itching/swelling (of your face/tongue/throat), breathing difficulty, etc.
Status asthmaticus
Budate 0.5 MG Transpules is not recommended for use in status asthmaticus (a severe asthmatic attack where airways of your lungs are constricted) as first-line therapy because it is not effective in treating this condition.

Infections
Budate 0.5 MG Transpules will decrease the immunity (defence mechanism) of your body and mask the symptoms of infection. This will increase the risk of secondary infections (that occurs during or after treating an infection). Hence, use this medicine with caution and your doctor’s supervision.
Diabetes
Budate 0.5 MG Transpules may increase blood sugar levels. Hence, if you have diabetes use this medicine with caution.
Liver disease
Use Budate 0.5 MG Transpules with caution if you have liver problems. This medicine is broken down in your liver. An impaired liver may lead to the accumulation of this medicine in your body which may damage your liver further. Your doctor may suggest tests to monitor your liver function.
Decrease bone density
Budate 0.5 MG Transpules may decrease the bone density by reducing calcium absorption. Hence, it should be used with caution due to the risk of developing bone injuries especially if you are a postmenopausal woman.
Growth retardation
Budate 0.5 MG Transpules may cause growth retardation in some children, especially if used in high doses for a long time. Therefore, children taking this medicine should be monitored closely concerning growth parameters.
Candida infection
