Arkamin 100 mcg Tablet 30’s belongs to the group of medicines called ‘Antihypertensives’ used in the management of high blood pressure. Besides this, Arkamin 100 mcg Tablet 30’s is used alone or in combination with other medicines to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children above 6 years. High blood pressure (hypertension) is a medical condition in which the blood exerts increased pressure on the walls of blood vessels leading to hypertension. It is a common condition and when not treated, may cause damage to blood vessels, brain, kidneys, heart and other parts of the body. ADHD is a condition in which the patient had difficulty focusing, controlling actions, and remaining quiet or still than others of the same age.
Arkamin 100 mcg Tablet 30’s contains ‘Clonidine’ that relaxes and widens the blood vessels making it easier for the heart to pump blood to all parts of the body. This, in turn, helps in decreasing the raised blood pressure and the risk of having a heart attack or stroke in future, especially people with high blood pressure. Additionally, Arkamin 100 mcg Tablet 30’s helps in treating attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) by affecting the part of the brain, which controls impulsivity and attention.
Take Arkamin 100mcg Tablet 30’s with or without food. Do not chew, break or crush the tablet; swallow it as a whole with a glass of water. Take Arkamin 100mcg Tablet 30’s at the same time every day. You are advised to take Arkamin 100mcg Tablet 30’s for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as headache, tiredness, dry mouth, weakness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, and constipation. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are recommended to speak to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.

DRUG-DRUG INTERACTIONS: Arkamin 100mcg Tablet 30’s may have interaction with atenolol, metoprolol, and propranolol (used to treat high blood pressure), tramadol and acetaminophen (used to relieve pain), aripiprazole and quetiapine (used to treat bipolar disorder), lorazepam, alprazolam, and duloxetine (used to treat anxiety disorder), diphenhydramine (used to relieve symptoms of cold), clonazepam, diazepam and pregabalin (used to treat fits), prazosin (used to treat enlarged prostate) and sildenafil (used to treat erectile dysfunction)
FOOD-DRUG INTERACTIONS: Maintain low salt and low-fat diet while taking Arkamin 100mcg Tablet 30’s. Avoid alcohol consumption while taking Arkamin 100mcg Tablet 30’s as it might lower the blood pressure than normal.
DRUG-DISEASE INTERACTION: Arkamin 100mcg Tablet 30’s may have interactions with depression, kidney dysfunction, heart problems such as bradyarrhythmia, and low blood pressure.
