Tecum 0.1% Lotion is used to treat atopic dermatitis (a skin condition that causes your skin to become dry, red, and itchy). This medicine works by preventing your immune system from producing certain chemical substances and helps in providing relief from the symptoms of atopic dermatitis.
Tecum 0.1% Lotion may cause burning, itching, redness or tingling sensation at the application site. Consult your doctor if these symptoms persist or worsen.
Tecum 0.1% Lotion should be applied externally to the affected part of your skin as directed by your doctor. Continue using this medicine for the prescribed duration to avoid a flare-up of your symptoms.

What is it prescribed for?

It is common in children, usually develops in early childhood, and is more common in people who have a family history of this condition. Tecum 0.1% Lotion is used in the treatment of atopic dermatitis.

Allergy
Avoid using Tecum 0.1% Lotion if you are allergic to it. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms such as skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of your face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, breathing difficulty, etc.

Warnings for special population
Pregnancy
Due to a lack of safety and efficacy studies in pregnant women, the risk to your developing foetus due to Tecum 0.1% Lotion is not known. This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy unless necessary. If you are pregnant, consult your doctor.
Breast-feeding
It is not known if Tecum 0.1% Lotion passes into breastmilk. This medicine is not recommended during breastfeeding unless necessary. If you are breastfeeding, consult your doctor. If indicated for use, avoid applying this medicine to breast areas (nipple) that may come into contact with your infant.
General warnings
External use only
Tecum 0.1% Lotion is meant for external use only. Do not use this medicine on infected skin or open wounds. Avoid contact with your eyes. In case of accidental contact with your eyes, rinse them thoroughly with water.
Other skin problems
Tecum 0.1% Lotion is not recommended if you have Netherton’s syndrome (a rare, genetic condition causing abnormalities of your skin, hair, and immune system), lamellar ichthyosis (a rare, genetic condition affecting your skin), generalized erythroderma (a condition with widespread reddening of your skin) due to the increased risk of severe side effects.
Other medicines
Tecum 0.1% Lotion may interact with other medicines meant for topical use. Concomitant use of this medicine and other medicines for external use on the same area of your skin should therefore be avoided. Inform your doctor about the topical preparations (ointments/lotions/gels) that you may have been using to avoid undesired side effects.
Skin sensitivity
Tecum 0.1% Lotion may increase the sensitivity of your skin to sunlight. Avoid excessive exposure to sunlight, wear protective clothing and use sunscreen with a high sun protection factor while on treatment with this medicine.

Apply the missed dose of Tecum 0.1% Lotion as soon as you remember. Do not apply a double dose to make up for the missed one.
