Mode of Action of Supatret C Gel 15gm
How Does It Work?

Supatret Gel 15gm works by the combined action of its two components – Clindamycin and Tretinoin.

Clindamycin is an antibiotic, which works by inhibiting growth and multiplication of acne-causing bacteria.

Tretinoin is a form of Vitamin A. It also has anti-inflammatory properties and works by irritating the skin and causing the skin cells to divide and die more rapidly, speeding up turnover of the cells and thus encouraging new cell growth and replenishing the skin.
Directions for Use of Supatret C Gel 15gm

Supatret C Gel 15gm is meant for external use only.

Use it exactly as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.

Read the instructions on the label or the leaflet before use.

Clean and dry the infected area well.

Apply a thin layer of this medicine on the affected skin surface free from cuts and wounds and gently massage it.

Avoid touching the tip of the container directly to the infected area of the skin.

Wash your hands before and after using Supatret Gel 15gm.

In case your eyes come in contact with this medicine, rinse your eyes with clean water immediately.
Interactions of Supatret C Gel 15gm
Interactions with other medicines

Supatret C Gel 15gm is applied externally on the skin, thus it is less likely to interact with other medicines taken orally. However, it may interact with other topically applied creams, lotion and gel. Discuss with your doctor if you are already on another topical gel or creams.

Supatret Gel 15gm should be used with caution along with medicated soaps and cleaners, as it may cause dryness of the skin.

Concomitant use along with medicines that contain steroids should be avoided.

Medicines like warfarin, acenocoumarol and fluindione should be used cautiously with Supatret C Gel 15gm.

Do not use expired or damaged medicines.
Dosage of Supatret C Gel 15gm
Overdose

As Supatret Gel 15gm is meant for external application, cases of an overdose are unlikely. However, excessive use of this medicine for a prolonged duration may cause skin redness, peeling and discomfort. It may also cause symptoms like nausea, vomiting, stomach pain and diarrhoea.

If you experience any of the symptoms or upon accidental ingestion, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.

If you have overapplied it, wipe out the excess medicine with a tissue or cotton.
