INTRODUCTION
SERIVA contain sertaconazole which belongs to a group of medicine called imidazole antifungal agent. It is used on the skin to treat athlete’s foot that is between the toes (interdigital tinea pedis) in people 12 years of age and older with normal immune systems. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential cell wall component of fungi, needed for them to grow. The common side effects are application site reactions such as redness, itching, dry skin, burning, blistering, swelling, drainage and skin tenderness at the treated skin areas.
Skin infection will usually get better after 2 to 4 weeks. If your condition does not improve after 2 to 4 weeks of treatment, consult your doctor. It is not known if SERIVA is safe and effective in children under 12 years of age. Before using this medicine tell your doctor if you have ever had kidney disease, heart disease, liver problems. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking this medicine.

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS
Redness:
Cold water helps to bring the redness down. Apply aloe vera and cucumber to ease the redness.
Itching:
Apply a cold, wet cloth, or ice pack on the itching area. Take an oatmeal bath. Moisturize your skin. Apply cooling agents such as menthol or calamine.

SERIVA should be used with caution in pregnant women. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine.
BREASTFEEDING
SERIVA should be used with caution in breast feeding women. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine.
ALLERGY
Do not use if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to sertaconazole or any other ingredients in this medicine.
INTERACTIONS
Tell your doctor about all the medicines you use, including prescription and non-prescription medicines and herbal supplements.
