Risofos 35 Tablet is used in osteoporosis in women after menopause (permanent stoppage of menses) and men, in whom there is an increased risk of bone fracture. Osteoporosis is a medical condition where bones become weak and fragile. It contains risedronate as its active ingredient that works by preventing bone removal, which makes bone stronger and less likely to break. Before using this medicine, inform the doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or are breastfeeding and about your detailed medical history including all the medicines you are currently taking.

Contraindications of Risofos 35 MG

If you are allergic to risedronate or any of the other ingredients of Risofos 35 Tablet.

If you have severe kidney disease.

If your blood calcium levels are lower than normal, a condition called hypocalcemia.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with Risofos 35 Tablet?

Alcohol is not known to interact with this medicine. However, you should avoid using alcohol as it can delay the healing or decrease the body’s response to infection/injury.
Other General Warnings
Talk to your doctor if

You are unable to fully digest milk sugar (lactose).

You have difficulty sitting or standing for at least 30 minutes.

You have had or have pain, swelling or numbness of the jaw or a “heavy jaw feeling” or

loosening of a tooth.

You have difficulty in swallowing or breathing, heartburn or chest pain or any other pre-existing medical condition etc.

You are undergoing dental treatment.

How Does It Work?
Risofos 35 Tablet works by inhibiting the process of bone resorption which makes bones stronger and less likely to break.
Directions for Use of Risofos 35 MG
Take this medicine without food, swallow whole with glass of plain water, 30 minutes before meal or drink (other than plain water) or as prescribed by your doctor.

Interactions with other medicines

Certain medicines can interfere with the action of the Risofos 35 tablet if taken at the same time. Always inform your doctor about all the medicine you are taking, that includes all prescribed or non-prescribed herbal medicines, dietary supplements as well as other treatment if you are taking for any disorder.

In particular, if you are taking antacids or other medicines containing calcium, magnesium or aluminium affects the absorption of this medicine.
Interactions with food items
Taking this medicine with dairy products such as milk decreases the absorption of this medicine.

Dosage of Risofos 35 MG
Overdose
If you have taken too much of this medicine and experience any unusual symptoms, then contact your doctor or reach out to the nearest hospital immediately.
Missed a Dose
Do not take a double dose if you have missed the dose, take the next dose as soon as you remember.
