INTRODUCTION
REVOLADE 25MG contains Eltrombopag which belongs to the group of medicines called thrombopoietin receptor agonists. It is used to treat low platelet count (immune thrombocytopenia) in adults and in children aged 1 year and above who are unresponsive to other medicines. Immune thrombocytopenia is a bleeding disorder characterized by decreased platelet count, unusual bleeding or bruising or bleeding in gums or nose.
It can also be used to treat thrombocytopenia in adults with hepatitis C virus infections who cannot take interferon treatment. It may also treat low blood counts caused by severe aplastic anemia in adult patients. Make sure that you do not consume any dairy foods such as cheese, butter, yoghurt or ice cream, milk or milk shakes 4 hours before or 2 hours taking this medicine. Avoid smoking while taking this medicine.
Take REVOLADE 25MG as directed by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. During the treatment, your doctor will ask you to regularly monitor the functions of eyes, liver and blood platelets to access the improvement and to avoid side effects. The most common side effects are unusual bleeding or bruising. This medicine should be used with caution in elderly patients and in patients who are smoking or over-weight. Consult your doctor for advice. This medicine is not recommended for use in children unless prescribed by a physician.

HOW REVOLADE 25MG WORKS
REVOLADE 25MG is a non-immunosuppressive Thrombopoietin (TPO) receptor agonist. It selectively targets the transmembrane surface of TPO receptor present on the surface of human bone marrow progenitor cells and megakaryocytes. It increases cells in your bone marrow and make more platelets which lowers your risk of bleeding.
