Rapacan 2 mg Capsule is an immunosuppressant medicine used along with other medicines to prevent the body from rejecting a kidney transplant. This medicine is not recommended for use in children less than 13 years of age.

What is it prescribed for?
Organ Transplant – Rejection Prophylaxis
This medicine is used to prevent the rejection of an organ transplant.
Pulmonary lymphangioleiomyomatosis
This medicine is used in the treatment of Pulmonary lymphangioleiomyomatosis, a condition which affects the lungs of especially women of childbearing ages, leading to progressive lung dysfunction.

When not to use?
Allergy
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to sirolimus or any other components present along with it.

Missed Dose
If you miss a dose of Rapacan 2 mg Capsule, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed dose.

Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with active or a previous history of Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML). In patients at risk of developing this condition, this medicine should be used with extreme caution and the patient should be monitored closely for any signs of PML. It is advised to interrupt therapy if any signs of PML appear and take appropriate corrective measures.
Angioedema
Rapacan 2 mg Capsule should be used with extreme caution in patients who are at increased risk of angioedema. Close monitoring of such patients for any signs of angioedema is recommended.
Hyperlipidemia
Caution is advised while using this medicine in patients with hyperlipidemia since this medicine may further increase the cholesterol and triglycerides levels. Close monitoring of cholesterol levels is necessary for such patients.
Impaired liver function
Caution is advised while using this medicine in patients with impaired liver function due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects. Appropriate dose adjustments should be made based on the severity of the liver impairment. Close monitoring of liver function is necessary for such patients.
Lung dysfunction

Renal Dysfunction
