INTRODUCTION
LIPOCUT 120MG contains Orlistat which belongs to the group of medicines called Anti-obesity drugs. It is used for weight reduction in adults (18 years and above) who are overweight and have a body mass index (BMI) of 28 or more. Obesity occurs when there is an imbalance between energy consumption and energy expenditure over time, resulting in increased energy storage.
Orlistat works by attaching to the enzymes in the digestive system (lipases) and prevents them from breaking down some of the fat that you’ve consumed during your meal. The fat that is not digested cannot be absorbed and it is removed by your body. Along with this treatment, your doctor might ask you to consume a reduced calorie and low-fat diet.
Before taking LIPOCUT 120MG, inform your doctor if you have cholestasis, malnutrition syndrome, diabetes, or kidney disease. LIPOCUT 120MG is not recommended for use among pregnant or breastfeeding women. LIPOCUT 120MG is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (below 18 years of age), therefore consult your doctor before taking it. The most common side effects of taking LIPOCUT 120MG are flatulence, with or without oily spotting, sudden bowel motions, fatty, oily, or soft stools, stomach pain. Contact your doctor if any of the symptoms worsen.
