INTRODUCTION
INTAGESIC PLUS contains Diclofenac which belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) which reduces pain and inflammation. It is used to treat mild to moderate muscle and joint pains (sprains, strains, bruises, backache, sports injuries) contusions, post-traumatic pain, tendonitis (tennis elbow) and osteoarthritis pain in the knees. Diclofenac sodium is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory with analgesic properties. It inhibits the enzyme, cyclooxygenase (COX), which is an early component of the arachidonic acid cascade, resulting in the reduced formation of prostaglandins, thromboxanes and prostacylin.
Always use this INTAGESIC PLUS as prescribed by your doctor. Before using, tell your doctor if you have any kidney, liver or heart diseases, are pregnant or breastfeeding. It is not suitable for use in children and adolescents below 14 years of age. The common side effects are skin redness, inflammation or swelling. Do not apply this medicine to injured or infected skin. In case of accidental contact with eyes, mucous membranes, rinse the affected area completely with running water. If the irritation persists, contact your doctor.

HOW INTAGESIC PLUS WORKS
INTAGESIC PLUS is a phenylacetic acid derivative which leads to inhibition of cyclooxygenase activity, then leads to the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis and other inflammation mediators.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Always use INTAGESIC PLUS according to the dose and frequency as advised by your doctor. It is for external use only. Check the label for directions before use. Apply thin layers of this medicine in affected area 3 to 4 times daily and rub gently.
- Before you use, open the safety seal that covers the tube
- Squeeze out small amount of gel onto the dosing card evenly
- Clean and dry the skin and apply the gel to the directed skin areas, use your hands to gently rub the gel into the skin
- Make sure to cover the entire affected area with the gel
- Wash your hands well after you apply the gel, unless you are treating your hands
- If you are applying for your hands, do not wash them for at least one hour after you apply the gel
SIDE EFFECTS OF INTAGESIC PLUS
SERIOUS
- Skin eruption with redness, shortness of breath and difficulty in swallowing
- Wheezing, shortness of breath or feeling of tightness in chest
- Swelling of the face, lips and throat
COMMON
- Skin rash and disorder (eczema)
- Reddening of the skin (erythema)
- Inflammation of the skin
- Swelling or papules (dermatitis, contact dermatitis)
- Itching of the skin (pruritus)
RARE
- Extensive changes in the skin with the appearance of redness, scaling, and large bubbles (bullous dermatitis)

WARNING & PRECAUTIONS
PREGNANCY
INTAGESIC PLUS is not recommended for use in last 3 months of pregnancy unless necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
BREASTFEEDING
INTAGESIC PLUS is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
KIDNEY
INTAGESIC PLUS is not recommended in patients with active kidney diseases. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
ALLERGY
Tell your doctor if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Diclofenac.
OTHERS
Inform your doctor if you have or had,
- Allergic reactions
- Stomach or duodenal ulcer
INTERACTIONS
Inform your doctor if you are using or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription or the following,
- Aspirin or ibuprofen
- Diuretics
- ACE inhibitors
- Angiotensin II Antagonists
