Gabaneuron 100 Tablet is a combination of Gabapentin and Methylcobalamin. It is used in the treatment of neuropathic pain (pain from nerve damage). It can occur due to various conditions like diabetes, cancer, spine disorders, thyroid problems, or HIV (Human immunodeficiency virus) infection. Gabaneuron 100 Tablet works by blocking the movement of pain signals in your brain. It also helps in the formation of a protective covering (myelin) of the nerve fibres and repairs your damaged nerves.
Gabaneuron 100 Tablet may cause side effects like sleepiness, dizziness, weakness, and loss of coordination. These side effects are temporary and usually resolve on their own. What is it prescribed for?
Peripheral neuropathy is a condition that occurs due to damage of the nerves located outside of the brain and spinal cord (peripheral nerves). It often causes weakness, numbness, and pain, usually in the hands and feet. Gabaneuron 100 Tablet is used to relieve the symptoms of nerve damage in the feet and hands.
When not to use?
Gabaneuron 100 Tablet is not recommended if you have Leber’s Disease. Leber’s disease is a rare genetic disorder in which there is a painless loss of vision due to the death of optic nerve cells in your eyes. Gabaneuron 100 Tablet increases the risk of this disease and may worsen your condition.
Avoid taking Gabaneuron 100 Tablet if you are allergic to it. Serious allergic reactions are rare. However, seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms of allergic reactions such as skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, breathing difficulties, etc.
Warnings for special population
