Frext 100 mg Tablet is used in the treatment of OCD and helps to reduce its symptoms.
Depression is a mood disorder that involves persisting feelings of sadness and loss of interest that may interfere with daily activities. Frext 100 mg Tablet is used in the treatment of depression.
When not to use?
Avoid taking Frext 100 mg Tablet if you are allergic to it. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms such as skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, breathing difficulty, etc.
Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI)
Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) are a class of medicines used to treat depression. Frext 100 mg Tablet is not recommended for use during treatment with MAOIs (Rasagiline, Selegiline, etc.) as it may cause serotonin syndrome. Serotonin syndrome is a life-threatening condition characterised by hallucination, high heart rate, high blood pressure, dizziness, excessive sweating, high fever, seizures, vomiting, diarrhoea, etc.
After stopping the treatment with MAOIs, a time gap of at least 14 days should be maintained before starting the treatment with Frext 100 mg Tablet.
Warnings for special population
Frext 100 mg Tablet is not recommended for use during pregnancy as it may harm your foetus. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant.
Frext 100 mg Tablet passes into the breastmilk in small quantities. This medicine is not recommended for use if you are breastfeeding.

Frext 100 mg Tablet may cause hyponatraemia in some cases. This risk is especially high in the elderly and in people who are volume-depleted (low extracellular fluid in the body) or taking diuretics (medicines that increase water and salt excretion from the body). Blood pressure and sodium levels will be closely monitored by the doctor in such cases.
Take the missed dose of Frext 100 mg Tablet as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume at the scheduled time. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed dose.
