Description
Daktarin 2% Gel is an antifungal cream that consists of Miconazole. It is used in the treatment of various fungal infections of the skin like athlete’s foot (a fungal infection that usually begins between the toes), jock itch (a fungal infection that causes a red and itchy rash in warm and moist areas of the body) and ringworm infections. It kills and stops the growth of fungi by damaging their cell wall, thereby killing them.
Daktarin 2% Gel may cause mild side effects like itching, burning sensation, irritation and redness at the site of application. Consult your doctor if these side effects persist or worsen. Do not use Daktarin 2% Gel if you are allergic to it.
Daktarin 2% Gel is for external use only. Clean and dry the affected area before application. Apply a thin layer over the affected parts of your skin. Avoid contact with your eyes and mouth. Rinse with water immediately if the medicine comes in contact with these areas. Avoid using other medications on the same area while using Daktarin 2% Gel.
Daktarin 2% Gel may take a few days or weeks for improving your condition. Therefore, it is advised to complete the whole treatment with this medicine as prescribed. Inform your doctor if you have liver problems before using Daktarin 2% Gel. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or are breastfeeding before using this medicine. Daktarin 2% Gel is used in the treatment of tinea pedis (also known as athlete’s foot), which is a contagious fungal infection that affects the skin between the toes.
Tinea Cruris
Tinea cruris also known jock itch is a fungal infection that occurs in the moist and warm areas of the body forming red and itchy rash. This condition mostly affects the kin of genitals, buttocks, and inner thighs. Daktarin 2% Gel is used in the treatment of tinea cruris by reducing the spread of the infection.
Cutaneous Candidiasis
