About Cyra IT Capsule
Cyra IT Capsule 10’s is a combination medicine of proton pump inhibitor and prokinetic agent used to lower the increased level of stomach acid. It treats GERD (gastro-oesophagal reflux disease), and peptic ulcers. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) occurs when stomach acid frequently flows back into the food pipe (oesophagus). Peptic ulcers are sores that develop on the inner lining of the intestine and stomach.
CyraIT Capsule 10’s is a combination of two drugs, namely: Rabeprazole and Itopride. Rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that works by blocking the action of an enzyme called gastric proton pump, which is responsible for acid production. It minimizes the release of acid from the stomach that provides relief in heartburn and acid-related digestion. While Itopride works on the part of the brain that is responsible for controlling vomiting. It increases gastric emp undying, improves gastric sensitivity and tension by increasing the stomach’s movement and intestines in the upper digestive tract. It also has anti-emetic action. Together, Cyra IT Capsule 10’s helps in preventing acid reflux, thereby provides relief from acidity.
Take Cyra IT Capsule 10’s 30-60 minutes before food. Do not chew, or break the tablet; swallow it as a whole with a glass of water. You are advised to take Cyra IT Capsule 10’s for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as headache, nausea, stomach pain, dizziness, and diarrhoea. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.
Inform your doctor before taking CyraIT Capsule 10’s if you have a history of gastrointestinal bleeding, mechanical perforation/obstruction, or movement disorder. On long term treatment, Cyra IT Capsule 10’s may cause osteoporosis and hypomagnesemia (low levels of magnesium). Do not take Cyra IT Capsule 10’s if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed by the doctor. CyraIT Capsule 10’s causes drowsiness, so drive only if you are alert. CyraIT Capsule 10’s should not be given to children as safety has not been established. Avoid consuming alcohol with Cyra IT Capsule 10’s as it can lead to increased drowsiness and increased acid production.

Drug Warnings
Do not take CyraIT Capsule 10’s if you are allergic to any of its contents. Inform your doctor before taking Cyra IT Capsule 10’s if you have a history of gastrointestinal bleeding, mechanical perforation/obstruction, or movement disorder. CyraIT Capsule 10’s may cause osteoporosis on long term treatment. Cyra IT Capsule 10’s may also cause hypomagnesemia (low magnesium). Do not take CyraIT Capsule 10’s if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed by the doctor. Cyra IT Capsule 10’s causes dizziness, so drive only if you are alert. CyraIT Capsule 10’s should not be given to children as safety has not been established. Avoid consuming alcohol along with CyraIT Capsule 10’s as it could lead to increased drowsiness and can elevate the production of stomach acid. Keep your doctor informed about all the medicines and your health condition to rule out any side-effects. Consult your doctor if you experience unexplained weight loss, stomach pain, indigestion, vomit food or blood, or if you pass black stools. On long term treatment, Cyra IT Capsule 10’s may cause osteoporosis, hypomagnesemia (low levels of magnesium), and may reduce the absorption of vitamin B12.
Drug Interactions
DRUG-DRUG INTERACTIONS: Cyra IT Capsule 10’s may have interaction with pain killers (aspirin, naproxen), an antidepressant (duloxetine), hypothyroidism (levothyroxine), statins (atorvastatin), blood thinner (clopidogrel), and vitamin (vitamin b12).
FOOD-DRUG INTERACTIONS: Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption. Alcohol intake leads to increased production of stomach acid, thereby increases acidity and heartburn.
DRUG-DISEASE INTERACTION: CyraIT Capsule 10’s may have interactions with gastrointestinal bleeding, mechanical obstruction or perforation, Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhoea (CDAD), liver disease, bone fractures, hypomagnesemia (low levels of magnesium).
