Crevast-F 10 Tablet
Crevast-F10 Tablet is a combination of Rosuvastatin and Fenofibrate. It is a medicine used in the treatment of high blood cholesterol and triglyceride (fats) levels. This medicine works by blocking the production of unhealthy fats in your body. Thus, it also prevents the risk of heart problems and stroke (a condition that causes reduced oxygen supply to the brain).
Crevast-F10 Tablet has some side effects like headache, nausea, vomiting, weakness, joint pain, muscle pain, and stomach pain. These side effects are mild and may subside by themselves. Consult your doctor if these side effects last for a long time or worsen. Avoid consuming alcohol while taking this medicine as it may cause liver damage.
Crevast-F10 Tablet may be taken with or without food. Take the dose as directed by your doctor. Take it regularly at the same time for the ease of remembering. Avoid taking more than the recommended dose. Avoid discontinuing this medicine without consulting your doctor as it may increase the lipid (fat) levels in your body.
Crevast-F10 Tablet is not recommended for use if you are allergic to it. Avoid taking this medicine if you have severe kidney problems, pre-existing liver conditions, or gallbladder conditions such as gallstones (solid deposits that develop in your gallbladder). Use this medicine with caution if you have diabetes or hypothyroidism (low levels of thyroid hormone in the body).
Crevast-F10 Tablet is not recommended for use in children below 18 years of age. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or are breastfeeding.

Uses of Crevast-F10 Tablet
What is it prescribed for?
Hyperlipidaemia
Hyperlipidaemia refers to a high level of bad cholesterol and triglycerides (type of fats) in your blood. Crevast-F10 Tablet is used in the treatment of hyperlipidaemia.
Prevention of heart attack and stroke
A high level of fats circulating in your blood may deposit in your blood vessels and increase the risk of heart problems. Hence, Crevast-F10 Tablet is used to prevent the risk of heart attack and stroke (a condition that occurs due to insufficient blood supply to your brain).
When not to use?
Allergy
Avoid taking Crevast-F10 Tablet if you are allergic to it. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms such as skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, breathing difficulty, etc.
Liver Disease
Crevast-F10 Tablet may cause abnormal liver function, swelling of the liver, and liver damage. Hence, this medicine is not recommended for use if you have pre-existing liver problems as it may further worsen your condition.
Severe kidney disease
Crevast-F10 Tablet is not recommended for use if you have severely impaired kidneys as a damaged kidney will not filter the medicine completely out of your body, leading to toxicity.
Gallbladder disease
Crevast-F10 Tablet is not recommended for use if you have any conditions affecting your gallbladder such as gallstones (solid deposits that develop in your gallbladder, a small pouch that stores bile produced by the liver). This medicine may further increase the risk of gallstones due to increased excretion of cholesterol into the bile (a fluid produced in the liver that helps in digestion).

Hematologic Changes

Use in elderly
Crevast-F10 Tablet should be used with caution in elderly people as it may increase the risk of kidney damage and serious side effects.
Hypothyroidism
Hypothyroidism refers to a low level of thyroid hormone in your blood. Hypothyroidism may be associated with rhabdomyolysis (breakdown of muscle tissue). Hence, Crevast-F10 Tablet should be used with caution if you have hypothyroidism as this medicine may further increase the risk of muscle damage.
Cognitive impairment
Crevast-F10 Tablet should be used with caution if you have cognitive impairment (a condition that causes a decline in mental abilities like memory and thinking skills).
