Description
Ciplox-D Eye/Ear Drops is a combination medicine indicated for the treatment of postoperative eye conditions (swelling, pain, redness, etc.) which are responsive to steroids and where bacterial infections or risks of bacterial infections exist. This medicine is not recommended for use in patients less than 18 years of age. It may also be used to treat certain infections of the ear canal caused by susceptible bacteria.

What is it prescribed for?
Steroid-responsive inflammatory ocular conditions
This medicine is used for the treatment of postoperative eye conditions (swelling, redness, pain, etc.) which are responsive to steroids and where bacterial infections or risks of bacterial infections exist.
Steroid-responsive inflammatory auricular conditions
This medicine may be used for the treatment of inflammatory conditions of the ears (swelling, pain, redness, etc.) where bacterial infections or risks of bacterial infections exist.
When not to use?
Allergy
This medicine is not recommended for use if you have a known allergy to ciprofloxacin, any other medicines belonging to the drug class fluoroquinolones, dexamethasone, any other glucocorticoids, or any other inactive ingredients present along with these medicines.
Systemic Fungal Infection
This medicine is not recommended for use if you have a fungal infection affecting any internal organs/organs in the body.

Pregnancy
Use of this medicine is not recommended for pregnant women unless absolutely necessary and the potential benefits outweigh the risks involved. Consult your doctor before using this medicine.
Breast-feeding

Contact lenses
Your doctor may ask you to stop the usage of contact lenses for up to a few days prior to the surgery and for up to a few days to a few months post-surgery depending on the type of eye surgery performed. If you are able to use contact lenses post-surgery, they should be removed prior to the administration of the eye drops. You are advised to wait for at least 10 to 15 minutes post administration of the eye drops before re-inserting the lenses.
Skin rash
This medicine may cause a skin rash or other signs and symptoms of allergic reactions. Any instance indicative of allergic reactions should be reported to the doctor on priority. Appropriate corrective measures, dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary based on the clinical condition of the patient.
