INTRODUCTION
CINOD 10MG contains a medicine called cilnidipine which belongs to the group of medicines called calcium channel blockers. It is indicated for the management of hypertension. Hypertension (high blood pressure), is a medical condition in which the blood vessels have persistently raised pressure. It can increase the risk of heart, brain, kidney and other diseases.
Cilnidipine lowers your blood pressure by preventing the entry of calcium into the cardiac cells. Generally, calcium ions enter the heart muscle cells during each heartbeat and helps in cardiac contractility. By blocking calcium entry, cilnidipine allows blood vessels to relax and dilate, thereby reducing blood pressure. Along with the therapy, your doctor would also recommend you avoid smoking or alcohol consumption, a well-balanced diet with reduced salt intake, weight management and to have an undisturbed sleep.
The most common side effects of taking this medicine are dizziness, flushing, palpitations and headache. If any of these symptoms bother you, consult your doctor. This medicine is contraindicated in patients with other severe heart diseases like hypotension, heart failure or angina. Consult your doctor before taking. Avoid concomitant use of CINOD 10MG with other antihypertensive drugs without consulting your doctor. Regularly monitor your blood pressure levels as a precaution to avoid unwanted side effects. Before taking this medicine inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
