Description
Cebran Eye/Ear Drops is a combination medicine which may be used for the treatment of eye infections such as conjunctivitis, corneal ulcers, and pre and postoperative eye conditions (swelling, pain, redness, etc.) where bacterial infections or risks of bacterial infections exist. It may also be used to treat certain infections of the ear canal and pre and postoperative ear infections caused by susceptible bacteria.

What is it prescribed for?
Bacterial Conjunctivitis
This medicine may be used in the treatment of conjunctivitis, which is an inflammation or infection of the conjunctiva, caused by bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, Staphylococcus epidermis, etc.
Corneal Ulcers
This medicine may be used in the treatment of corneal ulcer, which is an infection or inflammatory condition of the cornea, caused by bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, etc.
Ear infections
This medicine may be used in the treatment of certain infections of the ear canal such as otitis externa, otitis media, etc., caused by bacteria such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, etc.
Surgical prophylaxis
This medicine may be used for the prevention and treatment for eye and ear infections before and after eye or ear surgeries.
When not to use?
Allergy
This medicine is not recommended for use if you have a known allergy to ciprofloxacin, any other medicines belonging to the drug class fluoroquinolones, boric acid or any other inactive ingredients present along with the formulation.

Pregnancy
This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless absolutely necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before administering this medicine.

General warnings
Contact lenses
Your doctor may ask you to stop the usage of contact lenses for up to a few days prior to the surgery and for up to a few days to a few months post-surgery depending on the type of eye surgery performed. If you are able to use contact lenses post-surgery, they should be removed prior to the administration of the eye drops. You are advised to wait for at least 10 to 15 minutes post administration of the eye drops before re-inserting the lenses.
Contamination
Do not touch the tip of the dropper to any surface since this may lead to contamination by bacteria. Patients are advised to take all hygienic precautions to ensure that the medicine is not contaminated.
Drug-resistance
Usage of this medicine without sufficient proof or suspicion of a bacterial infection should be avoided. Irrational dosing might fail in providing benefits and may even cause toxicity. It may also increase the risk of development of bacteria that are drug resistant.
Driving or operating machinery
Use of this medicine may cause blurred vision in some patients. If you experience blurred vision during treatment with this medicine, it is advised that you do not perform any activities such as driving a vehicle or operating machinery until your vision is clear.

Missed Dose
Administer the missed dose as soon as you remember. It is advisable to skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. Do not administer a double dose to make up for the missed one.
