Cabliz 0.25mg Tablet
Cabliz 0.25 mg Tablet is used to treat excess production of a natural hormone called prolactin. Excess production of this hormone is due to unknown causes or abnormal growths in the pituitary. This medicine helps in preventing infertility, sexual problems, and bone loss caused by excess prolactin production in men and in women who are not breastfeeding. It is also used as a second line therapy in the treatment of signs and symptoms of Parkinson’s disease along with carbidopa-levodopa or as a single agent in case of failure of or intolerance to a non-ergot compound.

What is it prescribed for?
Hyperprolactinemia
Cabliz 0.25 mg Tablet is used in the treatment of hyperprolactinemia, a condition where there is an excess production of prolactin which may cause infertility, sexual problems, or bone loss in men and women who are not breastfeeding.
Parkinson’s disease
Cabliz 0.25 mg Tablet is used as a second line therapy in the treatment of signs and symptoms of Parkinson’s disease as an adjunct to carbidopa-levodopa or as a single agent in case of failure of or intolerance to a non-ergot compound.

When not to use?
Allergy
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to cabergoline or any ergot alkaloids or any other components present along with it.
Hypertension
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with uncontrolled hypertension due to the increased risk of serious cardiovascular adverse effects.

Hypotension

Close monitoring of blood pressure is necessary during treatment with this medicine. Patients are advised to get up slowly from a sitting or lying position to avoid these episodes.
Psychosis
Caution is advised while using this medicine in patients with a history of psychotic episodes due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient’s condition. Patients should be monitored closely for any changes in mood or behavior.
