Budamate 200mcg is a combination medication that has Formoterol and Budesonide as active ingredients. It is widely used for treating asthma. This medication is also used for preventing breathing problems caused by exercise. It is a long-acting beta-agonist bronchodilator. This medication widens the airways in the lungs which in turn helps you breathe more easily.

If you are allergic to milk protein or any ingredient in this medication, do not use it. Inform your doctor if you have a history of diabetes, low blood potassium levels, heart problems, blood vessel problems, high blood pressure, an adrenal gland tumor, seizures, or thyroid problems.

Are there any missed dose instructions?

The missed dose of this medicine should be taken as soon as you remember it. The missed dose, however, should be skipped if it is near the time of the next dose.

Work

This medication has bronchodilatory properties and works by selectively binding to beta-2 adrenergic receptors in bronchial smooth muscles. It results in the activation of intracellular adenyl cyclase which catalyzes the conversion of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) to cyclic-3”,5”-adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) and leads to bronchodilation. Budesonide belongs to Glucocorticoids. It works by inhibiting the release of multiple cell types (mast cells, eosinophils, neutrophils, macrophages, and lymphocytes) and mediators (histamine, eicosanoids, leukotrienes, and cytokines) that cause inflammation thus helps in the treatment of allergic disorders and reduces inflammation.
