Atormac 5 Tablet
Atormac 5 MG Tablet is prescribed as an adjunct to diet for the reduction of total and LDL cholesterol. It also may be used in hypercholesterolemic patients without clinically evident heart disease to reduce the risk of myocardial infarction, to reduce the risk for revascularization, and reduce the risk of death due to cardiovascular causes.
Atormac 5 MG Tablet belongs to a group of drugs known as statins. It reduces the level of low-density lipoprotein or bad cholesterol in the body. It also helps in curing various conditions like narrowing of arteries that arises due to high cholesterol levels in the body.
It can also reduce the amount of liver fat in the body. This drug is also used to lower the risk of stroke, heart attack or coronary heart diseases.
Use of Atormac 5 MG Tablet must be as per directed by the doctor. It is also important to take regular dose of Atormac 5 MG Tablet for best results. However if you have missed a dose, don’t try to compensate it by taking an extra dose with the next one. That is extremely harmful to the body.

Work
This medication works by increasing the number of hepatic LDL receptors on the cell surface, enhancing uptake and catabolism of LDL and it inhibits the hepatic synthesis of VLDL, thereby reducing the total number of VLDL and LDL particles.
