SOLIAN 200MG TABLET belongs to a group of medicines called ‘antipsychotics‘ used to treat nausea and vomiting post-surgery. In higher doses, SOLIAN 200MG TABLET also treats schizophrenia and acute psychotic episodes. Schizophrenia is a mental condition in which the person may feel, hear, or see things that are not there, believe things that are not true, feel unusually suspicious or confused.
SOLIAN 200MG TABLET contains ‘Amisulpride‘ that works by blocking chemical messengers’ effects in the brain (dopamine and serotonin). This helps in improving mood, behaviour, and thoughts. SOLIAN 200MG TABLET elevates the symptoms of the disease and prevents them from coming back. In this way, it improves disturbed thoughts, feelings, and behaviour.
You are suggested to take SOLIAN 200MG TABLET as long as your doctor has prescribed it after checking your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as uncontrolled moments of arms and legs, difficulty sleeping (insomnia), or feeling anxious or agitated, feeling drowsy or sleepy, constipation, feeling or being sick, dry mouth, putting on weight, unusual production of breast milk in women and men, breast pain, menstrual period stops, and blurred vision. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.
To treat your condition effectually, continue taking SOLIAN 200MG TABLET for as long as your doctor has prescribed. Do not take SOLIAN 200MG TABLET if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed. SOLIAN 200MG TABLET causes drowsiness and dizziness, do not drive unless you are alert. SOLIAN 200MG TABLET can be given to children if prescribed by the doctor for treating conduct disorder. SOLIAN 200MG TABLET should not be given to children for treating schizophrenia or mania. Avoid consuming alcohol along with SOLIAN 200MG TABLET as it could lead to increased drowsiness and dizziness. Rise slowly from sitting or lying position as SOLIAN 200MG TABLET causes orthostatic hypotension (sudden lowering in blood pressure leading to dizziness on standing). Inform your doctor before taking SOLIAN 200MG TABLET if you have diabetes as SOLIAN 200MG TABLET can cause an increase in blood sugar levels. SOLIAN 200MG TABLET may not be suitable for people with a history of prolactin-dependant breast cancer as SOLIAN 200MG TABLET increases prolactin levels. SOLIAN 200MG TABLET should not be used in adults to treat dementia-related psychosis.

DRUG-DRUG INTERACTION: SOLIAN 200MG TABLET may have interaction with aripiprazole (used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder), lorazepam, diazepam, alprazolam (used to treat anxiety disorders), citalopram, duloxetine, fluoxetine, escitalopram, trazodone, sertraline (used to treat depression), diphenhydramine, hydroxyzine (used to treat allergy), divalproex sodium (used to treat mania), gabapentin, clonazepam, lamotrigine, pregabalin (used to treat fits), oxycodone, tramadol (used to relieve pain), albuterol (used to treat breathing difficulty), and quetiapine (used to treat psychosis)
FOOD-DRUG INTERACTION: SOLIAN 200MG TABLET may have interaction with alcohol, obesity, and high cholesterol levels.
DRUG-DISEASE INTERACTION: SOLIAN 200MG TABLET may have interactions with dementia (memory loss), CNS depression, liver disease, seizures, low blood pressure, diabetes, lipid alterations, weight gain, parkinsonism, acute alcohol intoxication, neuroleptic malignant syndrome (occurs due to reaction with anti-psychotic drugs), Tardive dyskinesia (repetitive, involuntary movements), irregular heartbeat (with QT interval prolongation), kidney impairment/disease, blood abnormalities, lipid alterations, Priapism (prolonged erection of the penis), and hyperprolactinemia (higher levels of prolactin in the blood).
