Obimet 1000 MG Tablet SR is an anti-diabetic medicine used in the treatment of type 2 Diabetes mellitus (non-insulin-dependent). This is due to a decreased production of insulin (a hormone that regulates your blood sugar levels) and also your body’s poor response to insulin. Obimet 1000 MG Tablet SR is used in type II Diabetes. It acts by removing extra glucose from your body through urine and also increases your body’s response to insulin.

When not to use?
Do not take Obimet 1000 MG Tablet SR if you have a history of allergies. Allergic reaction to this medicine is rare. Seek immediate medical attention, if you notice any symptoms like skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, breathing difficulties, etc.
Metabolic acidosis is too much acid in your blood. Do not take Obimet 1000 MG Tablet SR if you have any such symptoms like headache, vomiting as it can worsen the condition.
Severe kidney disease
Avoid Obimet 1000 MG Tablet SR should not be taken if you have any kidney troubles. This medicine is excreted through urine and taking this medicine while you have pre-existing kidney problems can worsen the condition of your kidney.
Type 1 Diabetes mellitus
