INTRODUCTION
MIGRANEX 5MG contains Flunarizine which belongs to a group of medicines known as calcium channel blockers, which works by preventing the narrowing of blood vessels. It is indicated to treat migraine-type headaches. Migraine is a type of headache caused by abnormal activity of brain and it affects the blood flow in the brain and surrounding tissues. Flunarizine is a selective calcium entry blocker with calmodulin binding properties and histamine H1 blocking activity. It reduces arterial and arteriolar smooth muscle spasm. It also helps to improve the flow of blood in your brain and prevents abnormal activity of muscles that trigger migraines and effective in preventing migraine attacks.
Always take MIGRANEX 5MG exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have liver, kidney or heart problems, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers. It is not suitable for use in children. The common side effects are weight gain, tiredness and drowsiness. Take this medicine after a meal whenever possible to avoid stomach irritation.

HOW MIGRANEX 5MG WORKS
MIGRANEX 5MG works by preventing loss of tone and dilation of blood vessels, thus preventing the migraine headache. It is a calcium channel blocker that reduces arterial and arteriolar smooth muscle spasm.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Always take MIGRANEX 5MG exactly as your doctor has told you. Swallow the medicine as a whole, with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew. It can be taken with or without food. Take this medicine after a meal whenever possible to avoid stomach irritation.

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS
Weight gain:
Eat whole grain carbohydrates, fruits and vegetables and include lean or low-fat protein with meals and snacks. Have regular meals and never skip your breakfast.
Tiredness:
Eat a balanced diet and get regular exercise. Drink more water.
Constipation:
Add fruits, vegetables whole grains and other high-fiber foods to your normal diet.

DRIVING AND USING MACHINES
Do not drive or operate machinery while taking this medicine, since it may cause drowsiness.
ALCOHOL
Consumption of alcohol is not recommended during treatment with MIGRANEX 5MG, since it may cause drowsiness.
ALLERGY
Do not take if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Flunarizine.
OTHERS
Inform your doctor if you have or had,
- Depressive illness or history of recurrent depression
- Parkinson’s disease or a similar disease
INTERACTIONS
Inform your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription or the following,
- Tranquillisers (medicines for anxiety or to help you sleep)
- Oral contraceptive
- Medicine to control high blood pressure
