Some of the common side effects may include headache, fatigue, sleep disturbance, dry mouth, nausea and vomiting, stomach upset, diarrhoea or constipation, abdominal pain, numbness, a tingling sensation in the skin, increased sensitivity of the skin to sun (hyperpigmentation), sweating, hair loss, increased weight and lower back pain. Drug-Drug Interaction: Metolar-XR 100 Capsule 10’s may interact with other blood pressure lowering pills or beta-blockers (acebutolol, atenolol, bisoprolol, carteolol, esmolol, metoprolol, nadolol, nebivolol or sotalol) causing a dangerous drop in the heart rate. Besides this, Metolar-XR 100 Capsule 10’s should not be used with other blood pressure related medicines (lisinopril, enalapril, diltiazem, prazosin, terazosin, doxazosin), asthma medications (theophylline, aminophylline), pain killers, antifungals (terbinafine), anticancer (aldesleukin), blood thinner (dipyridamole), antibiotics (rifampicin), antivirals (ritonavir), antihistamines used to treat hay fever (diphenhydramine), medicines used to treat irregular heartbeat (amiodarone, propafenone, quinidine, disopyramide, tocainide, procainamide, ajmaline, flecainide, digitalis glycosides such as digoxin, lidocaine). If you are using these medicines tell your doctor before taking Metolar-XR 100 Capsule 10’s.
Drug-Food Interaction: Metolar-XR 100 Capsule 10’s severely interact with grapefruit and protein enriched foods. Using Metolar-XR 100 Capsule 10’s together with ayurvedic, homeopathy, unani, herbal supplements or any other OTC items may decrease the effects of Metolar-XR 100 Capsule 10’s. Hence, it is better to maintain at least 2 hours gap between the administration of Metolar-XR 100 Capsule 10’s and these products.
Drug-Disease Interaction: Metolar-XR 100 Capsule 10’s should not be given to the people with diabetes, thyroid disease, asthma, cardiogenic shock (when the heart fails to pump required blood to the body), heart valve problem (stenosis), low blood pressure (hypotension), coronary heart disease, liver disease or heart failure.
