EMBETA 25MG TABLET belongs to a group of medicines called as beta-blockers used alone or together with other medicines to treat high blood pressure (hypertension), heart related chest pain (angina) and protect heart after heart attack (myocardial infarction). Besides this, it also help in relieving symptoms of migraine related headache and tremors (fits). High blood pressure adds to the workload of the heart and arteries.
Hypertension or high blood pressure is a long-term force of the blood against the arteries that may lead to various types of heart diseases. If it continues for a long time, it can damage the blood vessels (arteries) of the brain, heart, and kidneys, resulting in a stroke, heart failure, or kidney failure. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of stroke, heart attack and heart related chest pain (angina).

It helps in slowing down the heart rate making it easier for pumping more blood around your body. EMBETA 25MG TABLET can be taken orally with or without food or as directed by your physician. EMBETA 25MG TABLET is preferable to take at the same time every day for better results. You may have common side like feeling dizzy or exhausted, cold hands or feet, difficulty in sleeping and having nightmares. These side effects are usually mild and short lived. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Before taking EMBETA 25MG TABLET you should tell doctor if you have any muscle disorder (myasthenia gravis, rhabdomyolysis), breathing problem (COPD, bronchitis, emphysema), low blood sugar level (hypoglycaemia), low blood pressure (hypotension), depression, previous heart failure, liver/kidney disease, thyroid hormone disorder, adrenal gland cancer, or problems with circulation (Raynaud’s syndrome).

EMBETA 25MG TABLET works by blocking both beta receptors namely beta 1 and beta 2. EMBETA 25MG TABLET blocks beta 1 receptor located in the cells of the heart that lowers heart rate and decreases heart’s blood pumping frequency decreasing raised blood pressure. On the other hand, EMBETA 25MG TABLET also blocks beta 2 receptors located in the lungs (bronchioles) and blood vessels of skeletal muscle narrowing it. This in turn lowers your overall body’s blood pressure and helps in reducing risk of having a stroke, a heart attack, heart problems or kidney problems in the future. EMBETA 25MG TABLET is used in combination with thiazide diuretics (water pills) and other medicines for the treatment of high blood pressure. Additionally, EMBETA 25MG TABLET reduces symptoms of essential tremor (fits), and prevent migraine. EMBETA 25MG TABLET can reduce symptoms of too much thyroid hormone (thyrotoxicosis) and can be taken together with thyroid related medicines to treat an overactive thyroid.

Side Effects of Embeta 25 Table
Like other medications, EMBETA 25MG TABLET may cause some side effects. However these side effects may be minor and temporary. Some of the common side effects may include headache, fatigue, sleep disturbance, dry mouth, nausea and vomiting, stomach upset, diarrhoea or constipation, abdominal pain, numbness, a tingling sensation in the skin, increased sensitivity of the skin to sun (hyperpigmentation), sweating, hair loss, increased weight and lower back pain. However, if the side effects are persistent or if you experience any other side-effect continuously while taking EMBETA 25MG TABLET, reach out to your doctor.

Drug-Drug Interaction: EMBETA 25MG TABLET may interact with other blood pressure lowering pills or beta-blockers (acebutolol, atenolol, bisoprolol, carteolol, esmolol, metoprolol, nadolol, nebivolol or sotalol) causing a dangerous drop in the heart rate. Besides this, EMBETA 25MG TABLET should not be used with other blood pressure related medicines (lisinopril, enalapril, diltiazem, prazosin, terazosin, doxazosin), asthma medications (theophylline, aminophylline), pain killers, antifungals (terbinafine), anticancer (aldesleukin), blood thinner (dipyridamole), antibiotics (rifampicin), antivirals (ritonavir), antihistamines used to treat hay fever (diphenhydramine), medicines used to treat irregular heartbeat (amiodarone, propafenone, quinidine, disopyramide, tocainide, procainamide, ajmaline, flecainide, digitalis glycosides such as digoxin, lidocaine). If you are using these medicines tell your doctor before taking EMBETA 25MG TABLET.
Drug-Food Interaction: EMBETA 25MG TABLET severely interact with grapefruit and protein enriched foods. Using EMBETA 25MG TABLET together with ayurvedic, homeopathy, unani, herbal supplements or any other OTC items may decrease the effects of EMBETA 25MG TABLET. Hence, it is better to maintain at least 2 hours gap between the administration of EMBETA 25MG TABLET and these products.
Drug-Disease Interaction: EMBETA 25MG TABLET should not be given to the people with diabetes, thyroid disease, asthma, cardiogenic shock (when the heart fails to pump required blood to the body), heart valve problem (stenosis), low blood pressure (hypotension), coronary heart disease, liver disease or heart failure.
