About Doverin-A Tablet 10’s
Doverin-A Tablet 10’s belongs to the class of medicine called ‘Antispasmodic’ in combination with a painkiller, used to reduce and relieve abdominal pain and cramps. Abdominal (tummy) pain occurs between your chest and pelvic region (below the belly button and leg). Stomach cramps can be due to bloating (trapped wind), diahhorea, kidney stones, stomach ulcer, appendicitis or other gastrointestinal conditions like inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
Doverin-A Tablet 10’s is a combination of two drugs, namely: Drotaverine (antispasmodic) and Aceclofenac (pain killer). Drotaverine works by relieving contractions associated with smooth muscles of the abdomen. Aceclofenac works by blocking the effect of a chemical messenger in your body, known as cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes that make another chemical ”prostaglandins” (PG) produced at injury sites and cause pain and inflammation. By blocking the effect of COX enzymes, lesser PGs are produced, which reduces mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site. Together, Doverin-A Tablet 10’s helps in relieving abdominal pain and cramps.
Take Doverin-A Tablet 10’s with food. Swallow Doverin-A Tablet 10’s as a whole with a glass of water; do not chew, or break the tablet. You are advised to take Doverin-A Tablet 10’s for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, dizziness and indigestion. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.
Doverin-A Tablet 10’s can increase your risk of fatal heart attack or stroke. So, if you have had any recent heart surgery, do not use Doverin-A Tablet 10’s. Doverin-A Tablet 10’s increases the chances of stomach ulcers and bleeding. To treat your condition effectually, continue taking Doverin-A Tablet 10’s for as long as your doctor has prescribed. Do not take Doverin-A Tablet 10’s if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed. Doverin-A Tablet 10’s causes drowsiness and dizziness, so drive with caution. Doverin-A Tablet 10’s should not be given to children as safety and efficacy have not been established. Avoid consuming alcohol along with Doverin-A Tablet 10’s as it could lead to increased drowsiness and dizziness; it might also increase the risk of stomach bleeding. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medicines to rule out any side-effects.
