Dextomid 50Mcg Injection is used as a supplementary agent for the purpose of analgesia and sedation in pediatric patients undergoing intensive medical care. It can also be used to prevent delirium and postanesthesia shivers.
On using this drug you may experience side effects such as hyperglycemia, hypoglycaemia, agitation, hallucination, etc. If the reactions persist make sure to contact your health care provider without delay. Do not use this medication if you are allergic to it.

Dextomid 50Mcg Injection is a sedative that also reduces anxiety and pain. The drug binds to the presynaptic alpha-2 adrenoreceptors and hence, stops transmitting pain signals by inhibiting noradrenaline. It also activates the postsynaptic alpha-2 adrenoreceptors thereby, decreasing heart rate and blood pressure by inhibiting sympathetic activity.
