Criz-M Tablet is a combination medicine that contains levocetirizine and montelukast. It is a very effective and potent medication mostly used to treat year-round allergic symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes, sneezing, itching, hives, etc. This is a widely used combination medicine in providing relief from blocked nose.
Criz-M Tablet stops the activity of the chemical substance that causes allergic symptoms. You may experience side effects like drowsiness, fever, rash, weakness, etc. Finish your entire course of treatment with Criz-M Tablet, even if the condition gets better after taking a few doses as abrupt stopping may recur the symptoms. The symptoms of allergic skin conditions are hives, redness, rash, swelling and itching etc. These can be seen as a response of your immune system to the allergens. Criz-M Tablet is used to treat symptoms of allergic skin conditions.
When not to use?
Allergy
Avoid using Criz-M Tablet if you are allergic to it or any other formulation containing it. Seek immediate medical attention if there are major allergic reactions such as skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of your face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, breathing difficulties, etc.
Kidney disease
Do not use Criz-M Tablet if you have severe kidney problems as an impaired kidney can not clear this medicine completely and lead to its accumulation. It may cause serious undesirable effects.

Warnings for special population
Pregnancy
Criz-M Tablet is the safest first-line treatment in pregnant women for cold or congested(blocked) nose. It is not known to cause any harm to the foetus. However, it should only be used after consultation with your doctor.
Breast-feeding
Criz-M Tablet may pass into breast milk in very small amounts which are not known to harm your baby. Limited data is available regarding the use of this medicine in breastfeeding. Hence, it is advised to consult your doctor before taking this medicine.
General warnings
Acute asthma
Criz-M Tablet is not effective in treating acute or severe attacks of asthma. Hence avoid using this tablet in asthma.
Behaviour and mood changes
Criz-M Tablet may cause changes in behaviour and mood. Symptoms such as agitation, irritability, anxiety, unusual dreams, depression, etc., should be reported to your doctor immediately.
Use in Elderly
Always maintain caution while using Criz-M Tablet in the elderly due to the increased risk of serious side effects.
CNS Depression
Criz-M Tablet may cause mild to moderate CNS depression resulting in sleepiness, difficulty in concentrating, etc.

Dosage
Missed Dose
Try not to skip the scheduled dose of Criz-M Tablet. If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. Do not take two doses together to make up for a forgotten dose.
