Ceftas 200mg Tablet 10’s is a cephalosporin-type antibiotic primarily taken to treat various types of bacterial infections of the ears, lungs, and urinary tract. Additionally, it is also prescribed to treat STDs (Sexually Transmitted Diseases). Infectious or harmful bacteria can make you sick and reproduce quickly in your body. These harmful bacteria produce chemicals known as toxins, which can damage tissue and make you sick.
Ceftas 200mg Tablet 10’s kills the bacterial cell by blocking the chemical (mucopeptides) released by the outer layer (cell wall) of the bacteria. In turn, Ceftas-200 Tablet 10’s weakens and destroys the bacterial cell wall. It is a broad range of antibiotic that helps in fighting various types of bacteria. Ceftas-200 Tablet 10’s will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections
Ceftas 200mg Tablet 10’s should be taken as prescribed by your doctor, preferably with a meal to avoid stomach upset and at fixed intervals every day for best results. The dose of Ceftas 200mg Tablet 10’s can vary depending upon your condition and severity of the infection. Also, it is recommended to complete the course of medicine even if you feel better as it is an antibiotic, and leaving it in between may lead to even severe infection that will in fact stop responding to the antibiotic as well (antibiotic resistance). The common side effects of Ceftas-200 Tablet 10’s include diarrhoea, nausea, loose stools, abdominal pain, dyspepsia (Indigestion), and vomiting. Everyone need not experience the above side effects. In case of any discomfort, speak with a doctor if you notice any sudden wheeziness, tightness in the chest or throat, difficulty in breathing, swelling of the eyelids, face or lips, rash or itching (especially affecting your whole body) STOP TAKING your medicine and go to a doctor immediately.
Before starting Ceftas 200mg Tablet 10’s, please inform your doctor if you have any allergy (against any antibiotic), kidney or liver problems. If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking Ceftas-200 Tablet 10’s. As far as it is known, Ceftas-200 Tablet 10’s may be used in pregnancy. Consideration should be given to discontinuing nursing temporarily during treatment with cefixime.

Like all medicines, Ceftas-200 Tablet 10’s can also cause side-effects, although not everybody experiences them. A most common side effect of Ceftas-200 Tablet 10’s is diarrhoea, nausea, loose stools, abdominal pain, dyspepsia (Indigestion), and vomiting. Most of the side effects of Ceftas-200 Tablet 10’s do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor. In-Depth Precautions and Warning
Drug Warnings
Do not take Ceftas-200 Tablet 10’s if you are allergic to Ceftas-200 Tablet 10’s or other macrolide antibiotics. Hypersensitivity reactions including shock and fatalities have been reported with Ceftas-200 Tablet 10’s. Discontinue use if there is a reaction and reach out to your doctor immediately. Tell your doctor if you have liver problems (jaundice), muscle problem (myasthenia gravis), heart rhythm disorder (arrhythmia), electrolyte imbalance (low potassium or magnesium level). In rare case, use of Ceftas-200 Tablet 10’s can cause diarrhoea, so in case if you have watery or bloody diarrhoea, stop taking Ceftas-200 Tablet 10’s and call your doctor. However, do not take any anti-diarrheal medicine until your doctor tells you. It is not known whether Ceftas-200 Tablet 10’s harms the baby in pregnancy or not. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning for pregnancy or breastfeeding before using Ceftas-200 Tablet 10’s.
Drug Interactions
Drug-Drug Interaction: Ceftas-200 Tablet 10’s may reduce the activity of the vaccines including cholera vaccine, live, typhoid vaccine, live and Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (is used in a solution to stimulate the immune system in the treatment of bladder cancer and as a vaccine to prevent tuberculosis). To ensure adequate vaccine response, you should not receive any above-mentioned vaccine, until at least 14 days after you complete your antibiotic therapy. Ceftas-200 Tablet 10’s can occasionally cause kidney problems, and using it with furosemide may increase that risk.
Drug-Food Interaction: Avoid taking eating high-fat meal as this makes it harder for your body to absorb Ceftas-200 Tablet 10’s. Eating grapefruit during antibiotics treatment can prevent the body from utilizing Ceftas-200 Tablet 10’s properly. So, prevent intake of grapefruit or grapefruit juice with the antibiotic. Avoid taking too much of calcium enriched foods and drinks as it might affect the working of Ceftas-200 Tablet 10’s.
Drug-Disease Interaction: People affected with diabetes mellitus, renal dysfunction, liver disease, seizure disorders, colitis (bowel disease that affects the large intestine, causing irritation, inflammation, and ulcers in the colon) should not take Ceftas-200 Tablet 10’s.
