Aciloc RD 20 Tablet belongs to a group of medicines called gastrointestinal agents used to treat heartburn, indigestion, epigastric pain, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) occurs when stomach acid frequently flows back into the food pipe (oesophagus). Aciloc RD 20 Tablet Peptic ulcers are sores that develop on the inner lining of the intestine and stomach. Zollinger-Ellison syndrome is characterised by the formation of tumours in the upper part of the small intestine, which leads to excess acid production.
Aciloc RD 20 Tablet is a combination of two drugs, namely: Omeprazole (proton pump inhibitor) and Domperidone (a dopamine antagonist). Omeprazole works by blocking the action of an enzyme called gastric proton pump, which is responsible for the production of acid Domperidone works by increasing the movements and contractions of stomach muscle. Together, Aciloc RD 20 Tablet helps in treating acidity.
Take Aciloc RD 20 Tablet 30-60minutes prior food. Swallow Aciloc RD 20 Tablet as a whole with a glass of water; do not chew, or break the tablet. You are advised to take Aciloc RD 20 Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as dry mouth, stomach pain, diarrhoea, headache, and flatulence. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.
