About Stalopam Plus Tablet
Stalopam Plus Tablet 15’s belongs to a group of medications called ‘antianxiety medications’. It is used in the treatment of anxiety disorders. Anxiety is the feeling of fear and worries about what’s about to come, which can interfere with your daily activities.
Stalopam Plus Tablet 15’s is a combination of two drugs: clonazepam and escitalopram. Clonazepam decreases activity in the brain producing a calming effect. Escitalopram increases the serotonin hormone levels that improve mood, behaviour and cognition in patients with anxiety.
Common side-effects of Stalopam Plus Tablet 15’s are nausea (feeling sick), headache, dizziness, confusion, drowsiness, fatigue, sleeping problems, breathlessness, poor coordination of movements, stomach upset, decreased libido (low sexual desire) and memory problems. Stalopam Plus Tablet 15’s may cause ‘suicidal thoughts’, especially in children and adolescents. Normally, these side-effects improve with discontinuation of treatment. However, do not abruptly stop taking the medication. Your doctor gradually reduces the dose before stopping the treatment. Abrupt stopping may lead to withdrawal symptoms such as flu-like symptoms, headache, dizziness, insomnia, restlessness and nausea. These symptoms usually appear during the first few days after stopping treatment and go away after a few days. If the symptoms persist or worsen, consult a doctor immediately.
Do not take Stalopam Plus Tablet 15’s if you are allergic to escitalopram, clonazepam or any other contents. Do not take this medication if you have a history of seizures, liver problems, sleep disorders, lung problems and alcohol or drug abuse. Do not consume alcohol as it can increase the risk of side-effects. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
