Pioplus 2 Tablet is used for Type 2 diabetes mellitus, Lower blood glucose in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus, Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus, Maturity onset diabetes, Type 2 diabetes, Polycystic ovary syndrome and other conditions. Pioplus 2 Tablet may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.Pioplus 2 Tablet contains Glimepiride, Metformin and Pioglitazone as active ingredients.
Pioplus 2 Tablet works by increasing the amount of insulin released by the pancreas; decreasing the amount of glucose and controls the amount of glucose in the blood; helping the body make better use of insulin by decreasing the glucose output;

Pioplus 2 Tablet is used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms:
Type 2 diabetes mellitus
Lower blood glucose in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus

Maturity onset diabetes
Type 2 diabetes
Polycystic ovary syndrome
The following is a list of possible side-effects that may occur from all constituting ingredients of Pioplus 2 Tablet. This is not a comprehensive list. These side-effects are possible, but do not always occur. Some of the side-effects may be rare but serious. Consult your doctor if you observe any of the following side-effects, especially if they do not go away.
Impairment of liver function
Porphyria cutanea tarda
Hepatic porphyria reactions
Low ph in body tissues and blood
Lack or loss of appetite for food
Altered sense of taste includes metallic taste
Malabsorption of vitamin b12
Inflammation of a nasal sinus
Impaired liver cell function
Infection of nose
Decreased sensitivity to stimulation
Inability to sleep
Rare elevated liver enzyme
Inflammation of the pharynx
Upper respiratory tract infection
Presence of blood in urine

Before using Pioplus 2 Tablet, inform your doctor about your current list of medications, over the counter products (e.g. vitamins, herbal supplements, etc.), allergies, pre-existing diseases, and current health conditions (e.g. pregnancy, upcoming surgery, etc.). Some health conditions may make you more susceptible to the side-effects of the drug. Take as directed by your doctor or follow the direction printed on the product insert. Adherence to dietary instructions, regular exercise, and regular testing of blood glucose are important to manage your diabetes
Be careful when driving or operating machinery
Be careful while using it with insulin or renal hypoglycaemics
Check the blood sugar regularly
Consult a doctor if you have any mental confusion, persistent abdominal pain, dark urine, yellowing of skin/eyes or easy bruising
Consult a doctor if you have oedema, congestive heart failure, hepatic dysfunction, jaundice, anaemia
Inform doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant
Inform doctor if you breastfeed or plan to breastfeed
Interactions with Pioplus 2 Tablet
If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of Pioplus 2 Tablet may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. Angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors
Atypical antipsychotic medications
When not to use Pioplus 2 Tablet
Hypersensitivity to Pioplus 2 Tablet is a contraindication. In addition, Pioplus 2 Tablet should not be used if you have the following conditions:
Acute myocardial infarction
Hypersensitivity to sulfonamide derivatives
Hypersensitivity to this drug
