Contraindications of Libotryp Tablet

If you are allergic to any ingredients present in the Libotryp tablet.

If you are taking other psychiatric medicines like phenelzine, isocarboxazid, etc.

If you have any heart problems or you are in the phase of recovering after a heart attack or stroke.

If you have an existing medical condition such as liver problems, heart problems, psychiatric disorder, respiratory problems and sleeping disorder, etc.

If you are pregnant or planning for pregnancy.

There should be a gap of at least 14 days between this medicine or any other brain-related disorder medicines such as selegiline (monoamine oxidase inhibitor). As simultaneous use can cause raise body temperature or fits, etc.

How Does It Work?

Libotryp tablet contains amitriptyline and chlordiazepoxide.

Amitriptyline helps in maintaining balance in the brain by increasing the natural substances in the brain.

Chlordiazepoxide works by increasing the activity of GABA, a chemical messenger which controls the abnormal activity of the brain.
Directions for Use of Libotryp Tablet

Libotryp tablet should be taken as directed by your doctor.

Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water.

You should try to consume this medicine at a fixed time as advised by your doctor for optimal results.
Interactions of Libotryp Tablet
Interactions with other medicines

Some medicines can affect the way the Libotryp tablet works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time. As this medicine contains two different components, any interaction seen with them when taken alone may happen with this combination.

Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction. Also, you should inform your doctor if you have a planned surgery or vaccination scheduled.

Especially, if you are taking medicines for psychiatric problems, fits, medicines used during the pre and post surgeries, antibiotics, antacids, contraceptives, pain killers, high blood pressure medicines, blood thinners, water pills, anti-allergic, etc.

Libotryp tablet should not be concomitantly used along with medicines to treat your mental health problems (like Isocarboxazid, Phenelzine, Selegiline).

Dosage of Libotryp Tablet
Overdose
If you notice any signs or symptoms of an overdose, immediately contact your treating doctor or visit your nearby hospital. Always carry the package of the tablet along with you for easy assessment of the severity of an overdose.
